Ronda in numbers:
Ronda is located on a plateau, that although it does not surpass the 700
meters of medium altitude, it is surrounded by a chain of calcáreos bulks
that, by its alignment, they are hardly accessible safe by certain natural
steps. Such circumstance has given through millenia a character him
ofmilitary redoubt, harnessed by the extremely steep thing of all the
mountainous systemthat takes its name.
It is crossed, from SE to NO, by the channel of the
Guadalevín river, affluent of the Guadiaro, that it runs at heart of the
denominated Tajo of Ronda, deep throat of 180 ms, opened in the mountain
that divides to the population in two parts. In so exceptional geographic
location, to 723 ms of height, a population lives on 35,618 inhabitants, on
an extension of 477.49 km². Its average temperature is of 15 ºC with
2,700 hours of sun to the year and
precipitations of 648 l /m2.
The zone of influence of Round exceeds with
much the limits of itsregion and even those of the own Mountainous area, and
it arrives at not less than 37 municipalities, of which 25 are malagueños,
belonging the rest to the bordering province of Cadiz, with a total
extension near 2,800 km. and a population around the one hundred thousand
inhabitants
